Before you begin, please familiarise yourself with the permit information on the Department for Environment and Water website.

What do I need to complete this application?

You will need the following:

  • if you are under 18 years, you will need a parent or guardian to support the application.
Basic Hunting permits are currently Open for application.
Duck Hunting permits are currently Closed for application.
No open season for duck has been declared for 2026.
Quail Hunting permits are currently Closed for application.
No open season for quail has been declared for 2026.

Have you ever been convicted of an offence against the National Parks and Wildlife Act 1972, the Animal Welfare Act 1985 or SA firearms legislation, or similar legislation in another state?

You may proceed with this application however, we may require additional information in which case we will contact you within 10 business days of your application being submitted.
